Central Park

Hey guys,
I finished my editing from my NYC day trip, I'm posting my favorite images I shot in Central Park.

Row boats on the lake

I love this close-up shot of the rolled up fencing I took.

The sun was setting nicely that day

I feel bad for whoever left their glasses on the bench. Hopefully they came back and they were still there.

The sun made her beautiful red hair as bright as a fire.

Met Museum

Hey Guys,
Had a few good couple of days. David and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for my belated birthday gift. That place is basically Disney world for me and I had a blast. David had to tell me "calm down, Teresa. It's the museum" because I kept rambling on about it during the whole train ride there. When I was little my favorite book I ever read was From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg. It was about a brother and sister running away to live in the Metropolitan Museum.

We were there over three hours and only got through the first floor and a quick visit to the recently opened roof. David enjoyed it almost as much as I did, and I know he doesn't want to admit it, but he has a new favorite museum because of me. We decided we have to go again and to the museum's Cloisters in northern Manhattan to see more Medieval art.

I planned ahead, knowing few museums allow flash photography, and brought my camera with my Prime 35mm f/1.8 lens. It was great in the low light and behind glass. I think Nikon should rename it "The Museum Lens". I posted a few shots I took there.

It's hard to even image the hours craftsmen had to put in for this finial alone. It is from a staircase in England

Even though it was a bit warm to be in the sun, Tomás Saraceno's Cloud City on the recently opened Roof was awesome. Maybe one day I'll be rich and I can visit one friday/saturday evening and sip on $11 a glass wine.

James's Graduation

Hey guys,
Not a whole lot new with me. I joined a gym today, and I hope it goes well. Still job hunting, but maybe something will come my way. I'm also happy this heat wave is over and I'm hoping for a decent summer. Today's post is of James's graduation. He's going to Rutgers in the fall and I hope the best for my little bro. GO JAMES!!!!

My only photo of James by himself smiling I shot. He hates having his photo taken by me. Even though he's not looking, he still look good to me

My Family!!! My Dad, James, Mom, and Patti

Abandoned

Hey guys,
Not a whole lot new here. Still job hunting, which is unfruitful at the moment, but I'm keeping spirits high. Not a whole lot else I can do. I had one interview at Starbucks that I think went ok-ish. My only problem is that I think I came off as over qualified for an $8 an hour job. (Which I hate to brag, but I am) Maybe something will come my way soon and I'll finally have money to buy healthy groceries and more camera equipment.
During the time in-between job searching, David and I took a quick stop at South Mountain Reserve. While on the path, we noticed one of the old abandoned factory buildings had its fence cut open. We decided to check it out. It wish I knew what was made there. I was happy I brought my camera with me. I got some great spooky shots, and some practice hand holding for 1/4 or 1/2 a second. I will win over camera shake, and my bad luck with not having a tripod when needed. If you notice, we weren't the first people inside. It is covered with graffiti, but I thought that added to the charm.

Prom

Hey Guys,
I am currently composing this while watching the Tony's. I love watching it every year. It's such a great night for theater and I'm a theater dork for all the performances. I think a night at the theater is much better than a night at the movies.
Well, I finally got done with retouching all of my brother's prom pictures, and decided to post a few of my favorites. James and his date Megan looked great. I am kicking myself though, I didn't get one shot of James by himself in his tux. He hates having his picture taken by me, so I'm putting all the blame on him. Isn't that what siblings are for?

Megan. I posed her like this to see the lovely corsage my brother picked out.

The whole group at the pre-prom party my family was invited to. I know not everyone is looking at the camera. I was SURROUNDED by a mob of parents with point and shoots trying to get a shot of their kid. And when doing little pro-bono things like this for family/friends I'm not a "camera jerk" and shoo the parents away for a minute to get the "eyes"

Hey Guys,
I forgot to introduce David's new member of the family he got a while ago; a blue male budgie. He is BBF's with their existing budgie; Marty. They talk/sing to each other constantly. The only bad part is that this new bird doesn't have a name. Besides Mr. Costa calling both the birds "Poopers". I want to name the new bird I'll Have Another, after the race horse. (They had one bird then "I'll Have Another" ha-ha) Unfortunately the race horse has unexpectedly retired tonight due to injury. I was then thinking about the name Purdy, because he is pretty, but Marty is also pretty. Oh well. I won't fret; it's not my bird, and it's only a bird.

Marty, the original bird is below, and the new bird is above

They both LOVE playing with their toys, especially bells

Hey Guys,
I've been shooting a lot lately. Things have gotten a bit better since last entry, no job, but I have created some great stuff. My little brother had his prom tonight and I shot some great stuff; which will be posted later, editing out teenage pimples is work :P. His date, Megan, looked beautiful in her silver gown. Also I've been enjoying these longer days and the nice weather we've been having. Before you know it, it's going to be an oven outside. Lastly I re-did my watermark, and I'm much happier with my new one.

Today's post is from the Lenape Park Trail in New Jersey. It was a beautiful clear day and the trees made strong beams of light through the leaves. Summer is finally here
